Itsy Bitsy Spider Climbing up The Wall (Dorrell, Dubai World Trace Centre)

The Wall is the highest outdoor climbing wall in the Middle East, with the first 10m World Cup standard Speed wall section. This outdoor wall is complete with speed wall, overhangs, and lead routes with a variety from Grade 3 to Grade 7. There are also few boulder/traverse routes.
I was confident enough to climb up the wall for the VERY FIRST TIME even without exercise! As a result, my arms are pumped up and aching the next day. LOL! Need to practise more to rely on my legs than my arms next time. Such a good fun! Check out my album for more pics... http://www.facebook.com/#!/album.php?aid=172619&id=728820938

Nickelback in DFC 2010

Nickelback concert is enjoyable but they used an acoustic guitar to play Rockstar which what I was looking forward to hear them play live.
The show is well equipped with slide slows that plays in the screen, lots of fireworks in the stage and memorabilia shirts shot to the crowd.
BUT....I've just realized that they're kinda nerd... Chad was asking the crowd to jump up and down with the devil horn sign waiving in the air... Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the music but DAMN, the concert was kinda NERRRD!!
LOL

Gameshow Social Responsibility

Watch CBS Videos Online

In the light of the Slumdog Millionnaire popularity, I have recently seen a feature story of a real slumdog millionaire in Sky News... Vishal Netke, a Mumbai taxi driver, did actually won 1 million Rupee in the India's franchise of the game show "Who wants to be a millionaire?"
When asked how did he spent his won prize, he showed the reporter his flat screen TV, washing machine, Nokia phone and nothing like any kind of investment to help him earn more than 1 million Rupee. It is truly sad to see someone waste away this opportunity to make his life better than having these electronics stuff that will only last for God knows how long, if not stolen by burglars.
It makes me wonder, are these game shows' only purpose to provide entertainment? Would it be nicer if they can provide not just hope for dreamers but also a long-term hope by giving some investment counselling to anyone who will win? Don't these gameshows have a pinch of social responsibility?
Until now, Netke is still driving a cab. If he was given a good financial advise, there could've been a hope that he could be driving a Landcruiser a year or 2 from now and there could've been one less impoverished family in their country.

Cool show to watch out for!

Check out this video: NAT GEO ADD

">

Guys and girls!!! If you don't have a National Geographic subscription.... well, this show will give you enough reason to grab one! Really coooooool stuff!

French journalist Diego Bunuel, co-director & host, covers controversial country where there is bad politics going on and he's style is really amazing. It's very impressive when he ask sensitive questions in a very casual manner... and the most impressive part is: he always manage to get away with it!

So far, my favourite episodes are Israel and North Korea. There was a part where he discovered that parents in North Korea are teaching their kids to shoot a gun and they use a live rooster as a target. Diego was just casually giggling when he said rooster is a symbol of friendship and ask the parents, "are you trying to have a statement here?"

In the video clip, he was also asking sensitive questions to his tour guide in North Korea while they are eating the shell food... well, he might not get an elaborated answer but it shows the real picture and he gets away with all the sensitive questions. Really brave! I guess his charm also helps a lot!

Watch it and love it!!!!

2007 Beerfest in Brauhaus

It's a long preparation! And I must say, the pressure is in the marketing aspect of this event. Last year, there were only 2 hotels in Dubai that had a special promotion of the world-renowned German festival, Oktoberfest... us and the Hofbrauhaus in JW Marriot. But this year, there were more or less 5 hotels that prepared something special for this event.
Well, it looks like we are the only one who raffled off a round trip ticket to Munich, Germany. And though we haven't spent a single dirham for the advertisement, the restaurant went full! We were even setting up a dining table at the entrance of the restaurant. I just hope I had enough energy to stay up late to join the peak of fun when everybody is dancing around with the four-peice Austrian band! Cool, eh?!
